Digital Video Collaboration

ART 250

Feb 24, 2025 - Apr 14, 2025

My Digital Video students are capable of storyboarding, pitching, shooting and editing video using standard DSLR cameras and sync-sound recording to help in the formation of thematic short films and social media campaigns. They will also have some experience at this point in the semester with simple graphics overlays and transitions, though this should not be main emphasis of the work (explainer or whiteboard videos not a fit).

Working alongside Ryan and his students during the creation of our short film trailer was nothing short of an exceptional experience. From the very beginning, Ryan demonstrated outstanding leadership and a deep understanding of collaboration, seamlessly bridging the needs of A WWB and his students with remarkable insight and finesse. The students, under his guidance, were not only engaged and positive but also brought an incredible level of curiosity and innovation to the table. Their thought-provoking questions and fresh ideas significantly elevated the quality of the project. It was inspiring to witness the enthusiasm and dedication they exhibited throughout the process. This collaboration's success is, without a doubt, a testament to Ryan's keen eye for detail and his ability to navigate and align diverse perspectives. His introductory sessions laid a solid foundation, while his regular updates ensured clear communication and progress every step of the way. These efforts were deeply appreciated and greatly valued by everyone involved. I am especially grateful for Ryan’s decision to connect us with two of his top students, who truly excelled and delivered results that far exceeded our expectations. Their contributions were instrumental in bringing our vision to life and making this project a triumphant success. I cannot thank Ryan enough for his hard work, dedication, and unwavering support throughout this journey. He has set an exceptional standard for collaborative projects, and it was an absolute pleasure working with him and his talented students.

Ann was excellent to work with. Sadly however the accountability for the output was lacking. We have done several projects with university students, including 1600 undergraduates at Wilfrid Laurier University in Canada, and this was by far the poorest quality output to date. I hate to say this, but I would not have provided a passing grade for this assignment. Nothing provided was useable, and follow up was not done as promised by the student.
